Since childhood, I knew I wanted to support people struggling with addiction. After spending years providing therapy to clients in residential addiction treatment, I was motivated to find a way to enhance outcomes after watching clients return endlessly. I knew the current standard of care wasn’t cutting it. That is when I found EMDR and DeTUR! EMDR is frequently misunderstood as a tool for ptsd specifically. However, EMDR supports clients in healing the root of the issue and is what I believe to be the missing link in addiction treatment programs. I currently serve professionals recovering or looking to recovery from an addiction. I have a masters and bachelors of social work from Youngstown State University. I am halfway through my doctoral program (in social work) at Capella University. I have earned my Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counseling License and have facilitated several community trauma informed trainings (another missing link to mainstream addiction treatment standards).
